Week 8 Reading and Writing
1. Looking back. Write about whatever you think is most relevant to assessing your progress so far. Here are some questions that might help:
Overall, how well are the reading and writing assignments working for you?
What has been your favorite reading so far?
Overall, how well are the reading and writing assignments working for you?
I think they are working well for me! I love reading the stories and getting to form my own version. It could be just nearly the same with a few slightly major changes or a completely different interpretation! I love coming up with ideas as I'm reading and having lightbulb moments of Oh! This one will be good.
Are you happy with your blog? With your project website?
I am happy with both! I put a lot of initial thought into how both looked so I don't really want to change anything. If I do I'll probably keep thinking about it just because it's different.
Are you satisfied with how the writing is going for your project? How about your story posts?

I guess I'm a little frustrated with my project writing as nothing I ever say seems to come across like I want it. I mean the same is also true for my stories. I always love my stories and then someone is like uhhh it doesn't make sense and I'm like crap. It makes sense to me. I hope I get better at explaining my perspective and getting my mind across better.
What do you consider to be your biggest accomplishment(s) in your writing for this class?
What do you consider to be your biggest accomplishment(s) in your writing for this class?
I really loved my Week 3 story! I know it didn't make sense to anyone but I honestly loved building the story and adding all the different fonts and sizes. I felt bad when people didn't get it, but by then I was emotionally committed to the work. I am still very proud of my work and I love being inspired by multiple stories/movies and creating something from the heart.
What has been your favorite reading so far?
It would have to be Afterlife from Mahabharata. I loved the perspective on death and the imagery used.
Are your reading notes helping you each week with your story post? (Remember, the goal is to "read like a writer" and take notes that will directly lead to your own stories; you might re-read these assignment instructions if you are not happy with your reading notes.)

Oh definitely. Especially with the Afterlife reading because I knew from the get-go that I was probably going to be inspired by that one so I took notes over it. It helps get the juices flowing for the story.
Have you discovered any new reading/research strategies? (There's a long list of different reading/research strategies here.)
I definitely need to slow down when I read and write. I have learned to take my time and soak in all parts of a story. This is totally necessary to be inspired to create a whole new story.
2. Image. Pick a favorite image from a previous reading notes or story post or from your project to include in the blog post, and write a few words about why you chose this image.
I will always love this image in a love/hate sort of way. It just so immensely proves the point I was making in my reading response and is overall very striking. The story was about how this old creepy dude wanted this girl who had formerly been a fish then a mom then a virgin again. This perfectly depicts all of that.
3. Looking forward. Then, after you look back, look forward. Is there anything you want/need to do in order to get more out out of the reading and writing experiences in this class?

I think I just need more time management skills so I can have longer to soak in the readings and form a good story.
